apsagementalwellne

We are excited to welcome our newest employee Jillian Puplampu to our group. Jillian is trained in a few types of therapy that you might not have heard of or that might be difficult to find. Below is a quick explanation of the different types of therapy that Jillian provides in addition to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person Centered Therapy. Mindfulness Based Therapy, and Trauma Informed therapy which all of our therapists provide through our integrative approach to mental wellness.

Expressive Art Therapy:

Expressive arts therapy is a therapeutic process that uses art to help people express and discover their feelings in a safe space. It combines psychology with the creative process to help people heal, understand themselves, and learn how to change.

Gestalt Therapy

Gestalt therapy techniques are a set of exercises and experiments that help people become more aware of their patterns and feelings. These techniques can help people identify conflicts and ambiguities in their personalities, and learn how to respond more fully to situations.

Jungian Therapy

Jungian therapy, also called analytical psychology, is a form of psychotherapy based on the theories of Carl Jung, focusing on exploring the conscious and unconscious aspects of the mind through techniques like dream analysis, active imagination, and examining archetypes, with the goal of achieving personal growth and self-realization by integrating hidden parts of the psyche into conscious awareness.

Psychoanalytic Therapy

Psychoanalytic therapy is a form of talk therapy that aims to uncover unconscious thoughts, feelings, and memories by utilizing techniques like free association, dream analysis, and transference analysis, where the therapist helps the patient interpret patterns and connections to understand the root causes of their behaviors and emotions, often focusing on early childhood experiences; this approach was largely developed by Sigmund Freud.

Family Systems Therapy:

Family systems therapy is a type of psychotherapy that views the family as a whole unit, meaning that when one member experiences an issue, it affects the entire family, and focuses on improving family dynamics by addressing how members interact with each other; techniques within this approach include structural family therapy, where the therapist examines the family structure and communication patterns to identify areas for change, and utilizing tools like genograms to map out family history and patterns of behavior.

You can reach Jillian Directly at Jillian@sagementalwellnesscenter.net if you have any questions about any of the aforementioned therapy types.
